Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare, pre-cook and cook food in a high-volume environment. You will set up mise en place, maintain cleanliness, and ensure proper labeling and storage of products.

The role requires food safety certification, a cooking school certificate, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare mise en place for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use per safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverages appropriately.
• Communicate with appropriate operational departments.
• Report maintenance issues or accidents to supervisor promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare “mise en place” (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and other products as required for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas.
• Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

The hourly wage rate for this position is $24.44. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation.
