Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Grill Cook, Deliver Driver to support high-volume food service operations in Calgary. The role involves assembling supplies, loading delivery trucks, and ensuring timely service to scheduled locations.

You will prepare food, maintain cleanliness, and follow safety standards throughout shifts. Ideal candidates have Food Handler and Responsible Beverage Service certificates, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and deliver all supplies to scheduled locations.
• Pre-load truck/vehicle with required products before daily routes.
• Unload products at delivery sites.
• Return unused food, containers, and equipment.
• Follow sanitation and safety guidelines for foods and equipment.
• Keep vehicle clean and perform pre/post-trip inspections.
• Prepare and cook food as directed; set up mise en place for high-volume production.
• Label, date, store, and rotate food and beverages appropriately.
• Communicate with operational departments as needed.
• Report maintenance issues or accidents to supervisor immediately.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

Prepares food in accordance with applicable corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food service is provided at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assemble and deliver all supplies to the scheduled locations
• Prior to beginning each day’s route, ensure that truck/vehicle is properly loaded with all products required to properly service all scheduled deliveries
• Unload requested products at delivery site
• Collect empty containers and rejected or unsold merchandise
• Return items such as unused food and beverages, serving equipment and utensils
• Follow sanitation and safety guidelines when handling food and equipment
• Keep company vehicle clean and organized at all times; perform pre & post trip vehicle inspections
• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare "mise en place" (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and other products as required for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas.
• Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

• A valid driver's license and good driving record is required
• Must possess a valid Responsible Beverage Service Certificate for the province in which you are applying where required by law
• You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent

• Physical ability to carry out duties of the position
• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a restaurant cook or prep cook.
