Job summary

Magnum Services is seeking a Greenhand to support field operations in Alberta. This junior role involves operating and maintaining equipment, assisting crews, and helping with shop and yard duties.

A safety-sensitive position, with training and progression potential in cementing oil and gas well operations. Responsibilities include assisting with equipment rigging, bulk plant tasks, and routine truck maintenance.

Qualifications

• Valid drivers license with clean record required.
• Physically able to lift up to 23 kg and stand/climb for extended periods.
• On-call 24 hours on a 15 days on/6 days off rotation; able to stay fit for duty.
• Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.

Responsibilities

• Operate, drive and care for field equipment and support operations.
• Keep shop and yard clean; manage storage locations for parts and tools.
• Assist with cleaning, equipment maintenance and crew readiness for jobs.
• Assist in bulk plant as required and ensure timely oil changes for company trucks within 200 km.
• Learn equipment operation and rigging in/out, and assist with location cleanup.
• Perform laundry duties and organize cleaned items in designated areas.
• Participate in training and development; perform related duties as required.

Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $75,000.00 Annually

POSITION SCOPE

Under the direction of the Station Manager, the Greenhand is responsible for operating, driving and caring for field equipment, performing shop maintenance and supporting the operational business. This is a junior/entry level position. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations

• Keep the shop and yard clean, including floors, washrooms, coffee rooms, and clean/wash bay.
• Put parts and tools away in identified storage locations.
• Assist with cleaning and working on equipment.
• Assist with getting crews ready to go out on jobs.
• Assist in the bulk plant when required.
• Ensure oil changes are completed on company pickup trucks in your operation within 200 km’s of requiring it.
• Understand and assist with rigging in and rigging down units, running the bulk unit, and location clean up.
• Learn the terminologies and operation of some or all of Magnum’s equipment and components as it relates to the cementing of oil and gas wells.
• Perform laundry duties and ensure cleaned items are put away in their designated areas.

General

• Participate in training and development activities.
• Other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required

• A valid driver’s license (non-graduated) with a clean driver’s record.
• Physically capable of moving/lifting heavy objects up to 23 kg., bending, standing, and climbing repeatedly for extended periods.
• Able to be on call 24 hours on 15 days on 6 days off rotational schedule, always remaining fit for duty (subject to change due to market conditions).
• Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.

Looking For
