Job summary

Autism Services in Canada is seeking an experienced tradesperson for our sign and print shop. You will fabricate and finish decals, signs, banners, and displays using digitally printed vinyl and paper products, and support installation on-site.

You should be adaptable, detail-oriented, with good English and ability to meet deadlines. 2–3 years hands-on experience, Grade 12, valid driver's license, and willingness to work varying hours, including overtime.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a trades or similar role.
• Grade 12 or equivalent; valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work at heights; some overtime.
• Experience in sign/graphic or print industry preferred.
• Attention to detail and quality workmanship; good English.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and finish decals, signs, banners, and displays using digitally printed vinyl and paper products.
• 20% of duties involve site surveys, meetings with customers with a project manager, and installation on-site.
• Support installation of signs and vinyl graphics such as vehicle wraps and window decals.

Job description

Graphic Production / Finishing / Installation

We require an Experienced tradesperson for a position at our sign and print shop. You are required to be an alert, think on your feet and adaptable kind of person. You are conscientious and particular, taking pride in your job. 80% of job duties are working with digitally printed vinyl and paper products. Responsible for fabrication and finishing of decals, signs, banners, tradeshow displays etc. You should be comfortable working with computers and understand some basic printer operation. You will understand the importance of efficiency and minimizing waste in a production environment. 20% of the duties will be out of the shop, doing site surveys, meeting with customers (along with a project manager), and installation of both signs and vinyl graphics such as vehicle wraps, and window decals. If you don't already have experience in another sign/graphic or print company, we'd love it if you have some Skilled Trades Experience. If you're mechanically inclined, a resourceful problem-solver, and have an eye for detail and high-quality work, you'll do well in this role.

Qualifications:

• At least 2-3 years of experience working with your hands
• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
• Valid drivers license and access to your own vehicle to get to job sites if necessary
• Able to work varying hours or overtime required
• Lift and carry 50lbs and work at heights
• Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail
• Good English and grammar skills (written and verbal)
• Training will be provided
• Wages depend on past experience, skills.

Other:

• Experience as a sign-installer (or similar trade)
• Experience working in construction.
• Experience in a customer-facing role (e.g. sales, retail, customer service)
