Purpose:
The Graphic Designer will support the Technical Investment Banking and Energy group. Your focus will be on creating compelling graphic and presentation designs that help senior executives communicate their vision and strategy. Experience in oil and gas technical fields is preferred, especially in conjunction with graphic design or willingness to develop these skills.
What You'll Do:
- Retrieve and utilize data from multiple sources to create accurate illustrations, cross-sections, maps, and presentation materials for pitches and client/internal use.
- Manage and organize data and final graphic files.
- Integrate data from sources like Geoscout, XI Technologies, AER, NRCAN, CNSOPB, CNLOPB, Wood Mackenzie, and client data to produce maps and visual references.
- Manipulate digital mapping data and scans.
- Import, layer, and edit vector drawings in Corel Draw according to Scotia standards.
- Print maps, reports, and presentations, and scan client materials.
- Operate in alignment with Scotiabank’s values, code of conduct, and sales principles, ensuring effective controls and compliance with operational, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risk standards.
What You'll Bring:
- 5-10 years of relevant oil and gas graphic design, drafting, or mapping experience.
- High school diploma required; college diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Geological Tech) preferred.
- Knowledge of business and departmental procedures.
- Proficiency with CorelDraw X17 or newer, Adobe Acrobat, MS Office 365; ArcGIS and Illustrator are assets.
- Excellent computer skills, understanding of OS, networks, and file management.
- Familiarity with GeoScout, XI Technologies, data collection, map building, and survey systems is an asset.
- Understanding of oil and gas industry basics, including the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, geological processes, and investor presentations.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and respond quickly under pressure.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Strong creative and problem-solving skills, with high discretion for confidential matters.
Work Arrangement:
This is an onsite role requiring a minimum of 4-5 days per week in the office, subject to change based on business needs.
