Job description

Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state.

Trans Mountain also operates a state-of-the-art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets.

As a federal Crown corporation, Trans Mountain continues to build on more than 70 years of experience delivering operational and safety excellence through our crude oil pipeline system.

Position: Communication Advisor (Graphic Designer)

As a Communication Advisor (Graphic Designer) with Trans Mountain (TM), you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast-paced group of stakeholder engagement and communications professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring brand consistency across internal and external platforms.
  • Maintain TM’s brand library, including logos and fonts, ensuring all materials adhere to established brand guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits of TM’s websites to identify and address gaps or mistakes in branding, ensuring visual consistency and accuracy.
  • Develop recommendations on gaps and execute any approved enhancements.
  • Create and develop recommendations on graphics for social media platforms and websites.
  • Responsible to pair written content with appropriate visuals, ensuring cohesive and engaging communication materials.
  • Accountable for posting content and serving as a backup for social media posting.
  • Provide support to the Communications team with special projects as required.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and provide communication support during emergencies.

Qualifications and Professional Experience

  • Post-secondary education or experience in Communications, Journalism, Creative Design or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in graphic design is required.
  • Experience with InDesign or relevant software required.
  • Expert in Power Point Presentations.
  • Strong communication, writing/editing, or related field, including working in corporate communications.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-level, project-based communications environment with emphasis on tight timelines and delivery.
  • Knowledge or experience with SharePoint would be considered an asset.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

  • Based in Calgary, AB.
  • Full time in office position.
