Qualifications

• A background in graphic design with a recognized diploma or certificate is required.
• Experience in supervising and coordinating graphic design projects for at least 1 year.
• Strong communication skills for client consultations and project management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise other graphic designers and technicians, ensuring projects meet client needs.
• Estimate timeframes for graphic design tasks and consult with clients regarding project details.
• Develop sketches and illustrations while coordinating all aspects of production.

Tasks

• Supervise other graphic designers or graphic arts technicians
• Estimate time to complete graphic designs and illustrations
• Consult with clients to determine the nature and content of illustrations in order to meet their communications needs
• Develop and produce realistic or representational sketches and final illustrations
• Co-ordinate all aspects of production for print, audio-visual or electronic materials
• Co-ordinate sub-contracting
• Consult with clients to establish the overall look, graphic elements and content of communications materials
• Determine the medium best suited to produce the desired visual effect and the most appropriate vehicle for communication
• Develop the graphic elements that meet the clients' objectives
• Establish guidelines for illustrators or photographers
• Prepare sketches, layouts and graphic elements
