We are seeking a Permanent, Full-Time Grants Development Coordinator II in Research Operations, reporting to the Manager, Research Grants.

Summary of Duties:

The Grants Development Coordinator II supports the research grants and awards portfolio at WCH. Responsibilities include:

  1. Coordinating the pre-award application cycle for research grants and nominations.
  2. Providing editorial and developmental support on applications.
  3. Offering strategic, educational, and communication support on funding opportunities.
  4. Tracking, analyzing, and reporting application data.
  5. Developing and executing support strategies for major grant initiatives.
  6. Acting as a liaison with funding agencies regarding policies and procedures, and communicating these to researchers.
  7. Ensuring compliance with WCH policies and risk management during grant development and submission.
  8. Collaborating with Communications and Foundation teams to disseminate funding opportunities and incorporate donor funding into applications.

The role requires independence, leadership, and collaboration with researchers, staff, and funding bodies to ensure high-quality, compliant applications.

As a champion of safety, you will promote best practices to ensure a safe environment.

Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in awards, pre-awards, or grant development roles.
  • Experience with national and international funding agencies, including Tri-Agencies, CFI, CRC, and NIH.
  • Experience in grant-related budget development.
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial research funding environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative, discretion, and tact.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Innovative mindset and willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience in a research office or operations environment.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Alignment with WCH's vision, mission, and values.
