Job Description

Intertek is searching for an Experienced Grain Inspector - Level 3 to join our Caleb Brett team in our Montreal, QC office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Agricultural / Field inspection!

General Responsibilities

Under broad supervision, render commodity inspection services that are timely, safe, legal, ethical, and effective. Perform volume measurements, temperature measurements, sampling, calculations, documentation, and reporting to ensure accurate, independent assessments of quantity and quality.

Specific Responsibilities
  1. Prepare for and organize grain inspection jobs to ensure timely service, reporting, and sampling.
  2. Attend commodity material movements involving loading and unloading of rail cars or trucks.
  3. Perform routine equipment calibration, verification, and checks.
  4. Conduct visual observations, volume and temperature measurements, and sampling of commodity materials in rail cars or trucks.
  5. Coordinate with loading facilities and management to facilitate duties.
  6. Verify and communicate results, ensuring data validity and traceability.
  7. Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean and organized manner.
  8. Monitor supplies needed for inspection processes and report needs.
  9. Assist in training less experienced employees using approved materials.
  10. Adhere to company policies on safety, quality, ethics, and environment, exercising good judgment and diplomacy.
Qualifications
  • Basic mathematics and computer skills; Canadian grain grading certification (minimum Level 3).
  • Physical ability to perform required tasks; no fear of heights or confined spaces.
  • Positive attitude, high tolerance for job pressure, and good communication skills with diverse individuals.
