Graduate Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Are you a recent graduate interested in working with children and looking to start your career in education? Academics is seeking enthusiastic graduates to join an outstanding primary school in Redbridge, London, as Teaching Assistants starting September 2025.

This full-time, one-year contract (until July 2026) involves working across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, delivering interventions in small groups and 1-on-1 to support learning in Maths, Reading, and Writing.

  • Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant - Primary School
  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Contract Duration: 1 Year
  • Hours: 8:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
  • Weekly Pay: £445 - £575
  • Location: Redbridge, London

We welcome graduates from any degree background such as Maths, English, Science, Arts, Psychology, Education, Early Years Childhood Studies, Sociology, Criminology, Special Needs, Languages, and more. Prior experience working with children or with family members with additional needs is beneficial but not essential.

The role includes assisting in classroom duties, delivering targeted interventions, and supporting children with mild special educational needs or English as an additional language. This position offers valuable exposure to educational professionals like teachers, social workers, psychologists, and speech & language therapists, providing insights into how teaching and EHCPs work.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates aiming to pursue careers in education, whether as teachers, psychologists, counselors, or social workers. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to undertake teacher training starting September 2026.
