Job Description

I am seeking curious, motivated, and collaborative individuals to join my research team at Western University starting in Fall 2025 or Winter 2026. Funded MSc and PhD positions are available in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

My research group explores innovative solutions in wastewater treatment, with a particular emphasis on:

  • Carbon recovery using high-rate and densified activated sludge processes.
  • Machine learning applications for process modelling and control.
  • Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions monitoring and mitigation in wastewater treatment plants.

Our lab will build on existing collaborations with leading technology providers and consulting firms, creating opportunities for applied research and industry engagement.

Candidates should have a background in Environmental Engineering, particularly with expertise in wastewater treatment, process modeling, and/or machine learning. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated research experience.

  • MSc applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
  • PhD positions are open to both domestic and international candidates.
