About the Opportunity:

NSH will provide you with the challenge and opportunity you are looking for by entering the Pharmacy field!

Registered Pharmacy Technician participates in the provision of safe, competent, patient or family centered ethical care, ensuring the goals and needs of the patient are prioritized and individualized; prepares, packages and dispenses medication under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Responsibilities include compounding of sterile and non-sterile dosage forms, dispensing drugs to inpatients and outpatients in unit dose, physician order entry, working with automation, inventory control, medication reconciliation, and CIVA systems. Preparation of chemotherapy doses, distributing narcotics and participating in quality programs and patient safety initiatives.

About You:

We want to hear from you if you have the following:
  1. Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
  2. Eligible for Licensure and registration in Nova Scotia as a Pharmacy Technician (NSCP) required
  3. Competencies in other languages is an asset; French preferred

Hours:

Various permanent, assignments (temporary), casual relief (no guarantee of hours), and opportunities available in various locations throughout Nova Scotia. Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. You will be given the opportunity to specify your work location preferences in the application.

Compensation and Benefits:
  1. Competitive compensation
  2. Graduate Pharmacy Technician: $24.97 per hour
  3. Registered Technician: $29.05 per hour after you provide proof of your registration with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists
  4. Signing bonuses starting at $5000 for some programs/units with potential for up to $10,000 for rural placements
  5. Up to $5000 in relocation expenses
  6. Extensive health and dental benefits
