About Potash

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world. BHP’s investment will deliver a potash mine designed to maximize sustainability, with thousands of workforce opportunities during construction and long-term roles afterwards. Jansen’s construction will span several years with first production planned mid-2027. The project aims for initial production capacity of 8.5 Mtpa, with potential to grow to 16–17 Mtpa in future stages.

About the Graduate Program

The 24-month graduate program develops skills to manage change and achieve results, balancing technical and professional development to build well-rounded capabilities. Graduates will rotate into different teams 2–4 times to build technical capabilities and leadership skills, guided by our leaders on real projects. Near the end, you may stay in the same commodity or explore other opportunities within BHP.

About the Role

To be considered, you will need:

  • A post-secondary degree obtained within the last two years or be eligible for graduation by May/June 2026 in one of the following disciplines:
  • Geological Engineering
  • Geotechnical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Process Engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
Work Location

This position will be based in Saskatoon. The schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hybrid work (office and home) is standard for BHP.

BHP offers domestic relocation assistance as part of the relocation program (e.g., home purchase assistance, temporary accommodations, home finding trip, resettlement allowance).

About You
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Previous experience in a construction or engineering environment is a plus
