Job summary

Simcoe County District School Board invites applications for a Grade 5 teaching position (LTO) at 1.0 FTE, 5 days per week. The teacher will deliver instruction, manage the classroom, and report pupil progress to the principal as requested under provincial duties.

Applicants will follow the Ontario Regulation 298 duties, work with the principal and colleagues, and participate in parent meetings. All application fees are covered by the board.

Responsibilities

• be responsible for effective instruction, training and evaluation of pupils in the subjects assigned to the teacher and for the management of the class
• carry out supervisory duties and instructional program assigned by the principal
• co-operate with the principal and other teachers to establish and maintain consistent disciplinary practices
• ensure that report cards are completed and processed according to the Ontario guidelines
• participate in meetings with pupils’ parents or guardians
• provide for a safe classroom environment and supervise students as required
