Located on Îyârhe (Stoney) Nakoda First Nation territory in Mînî Thnî, Alberta, our school serves students from preschool to Grade 5 and is deeply committed to fostering holistic, culturally grounded, and academically strong learners.

About The Role

We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Grade 4/5 teacher to cover a maternity leave for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a unique opportunity to join a supportive, collaborative team and to make a lasting impact in a culturally rich, community-driven school environment.

You will teach all core subjects to a Grade 4/5 split class, working within a school that emphasizes cultural connections, curriculum-aligned outdoor learning, and the integration of Stoney Nakoda language and values into everyday teaching.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience teaching or willingness to teach in a split-grade setting
  • Commitment to Indigenous education, Truth and Reconciliation, and culturally responsive teaching
  • Strong classroom management and differentiated instruction skills
  • Ability to build caring and respectful relationships with students, families, and community members
  • Familiarity with assessment tools such as Fountas & Pinnell, and Alberta provincial screenings is an asset
  • Experience or interest in outdoor education and land-based learning is strongly encouraged
