Position Overview:

We are looking for passionate, relationship-focused teachers who are eager to implement the Everstone+ curriculum framework. This framework blends Ontario, Cambridge, and LifeREADY principles to create a rigorous yet supportive academic environment. As a Classroom/Homeform Teacher, you will work directly with students to help them develop the skills necessary to succeed both in school and beyond. We focus on developing motivated, confident learners who are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of our faculty team, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction through the Everstone+ curriculum framework, integrating elements of the Ontario Curriculum +1, Cambridge International, Singapore Math, and our signature LifeREADY skills model.
  • Participate in the implementation plan to incorportate Financial Literacy, Coding, and Field Studies (Everstone+ Environmental Education) into your grade or subject level teaching
  • Assess, Reflect, Plan and Act to ensure a well developed, detailed, and organized program for the subjects or HomeForm you are designated to teach
  • Incorporate Growing Success into your assesment and evaluation practices and ensure that asessment and evalution is alinged to Ontario practices - and is demonstrated with learning goals, success criteria, triangulation, and goal setting
  • Ensuring your classroom and your teaching aligns to the requirements of the Senior School Inspection process that is biannual for InnovOak.
  • Design and leadLifeREADY lessons, helping students build essential competencies such as self-regulation, communication, time management, and emotional resilience.
  • Maintain a dynamic, inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic excellence, critical thinking, creativity, and personal growth.
  • Provide individualized support and mentorship, guiding each student to meet or exceed grade-level expectations through regular conferencing and check-ins.
  • Embed collaborative learning strategies that promote teamwork, inquiry, and real-world problem-solving across subjects.
  • Encourage student participation in both academics and extracurriculars, helping to provide a well-rounded school experience.
  • Lead or support academic and not academic clubs regularly (currently scheduled as part of the school day at the end of academics) to meet the demand of providing students with opportunities for creativity, physical activities, or opening new interests.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a teacher (not educator) who is more than a subject expert—someone who understands the unique responsibilities of teaching children within a Canadian school environment and who brings a child-centered, candadian culturally informed, and forward-thinking approach to education. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A strong foundation in Canadian school culture, gained through meaningful experience as a student, teacher candidate, or educator in a K–12 setting.
  • A relationship-focused approach, creating a classroom environment that is safe, nurturing, and engaging for all students.
  • A clear commitment to student development, supporting both academic achievement and social-emotional growth.
  • Experience in managing a classroom independently, with a deep understanding of Ontario teaching standards, including professional conduct, supervision, and collaboration.
  • A flexible, growth-oriented mindset and a willingness to embrace innovative, future-focused educational practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, and fellow educators.
  • A passion for whole-child education, understanding that teaching is not just about content delivery but about shaping confident, capable learners for life.

Qualifications

  • A university degree aligned to an Ontario B.Ed is a strong plus
  • Real experinece teaching in private school delivering a standardized north american, british, or austrailian curriculum is also a plus
  • OCT certification from an Ontario Teacher's College is a plus
  • Training or practicum experience from an accredited Ontario teacher education program is an asset.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
