Job summary

The Nisga'a School District No. 92 is seeking an Elementary Teacher for Alvin A. McKay Elementary School.

The anticipated Grade 2/3 assignment will be determined by enrollment and school needs. The role emphasizes integrating Nisga'a and Indigenous perspectives within a culture-centered learning environment. Responsibilities include planning and delivering BC curriculum-aligned instruction, assessing student progress, and fostering Relationships with families and the community.

Qualifications

  • Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligibility).
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada.
  • Experience delivering instruction in Grades 2-3.
  • Knowledge of the BC Curriculum, including learning standards and core competencies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction aligned with BC curriculum and standards.
  • Use assessment to inform instruction and support learner growth.
