JOB DESCRIPTION

Notre Dame is seeking a full-time teacher to work in the areas of Christian Education (8-10) and Learning Resource, working with small groups of neurodivergent learners.

Courses may include Christian Education classes in grades 8 to 10. In each of those courses, a plethora of primary and secondary resources are used effectively in accordance with the CISVA Christian Education Curriculum. The focus at each grade level is as follows:

• Grade 8 Old Testament

• Grade 9 New Testament

• Grade 10 Morality

The learning resource component would include working with neurodivergent students in Program Support, assisting them in their study skills and organization as well as teaching an adapted curriculum in Christian Education and English Language Arts.

It is expected that the successful candidate would contribute to the extracurricular programs at the school.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for a teacher with a passion for education who has a desire to make a positive impact on students. It is important in this subject area to possess strong organizational skills and the ability to take initiative in different situations while being flexible. Effective communication skills will also create a positive working environment for both the students and the teachers. We have a commitment to strengthening our students’ faith development as well as encouraging them to broaden their skills by participating in extracurricular activities. We have lots of opportunities for teachers to be involved in coaching, club moderators, teacher sponsors and being a part of our Fine Arts Program.
