Job summary

Métis Nation–Saskatchewan is seeking a Policy Analyst – Committees to support MNLA and PMC committees with policy, procedural, administrative, research and records duties. You will coordinate agendas, minutes, and materials and ensure compliance with MN-S governance standards and traditions.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in political science, public administration, public policy, Indigenous governance, business administration, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in government, Indigenous governance, legislative services, committee administration, public policy, executive support or a related environment.
• Experience preparing agendas, minutes, briefing notes, reports, resolutions, action logs, correspondence and meeting packages.
• Experience coordinating meetings, committees, working groups, assemblies, hearings or other formal governance processes is considered an asset.
• Experience conducting research and policy analysis, interpreting legislation, procedures or governance documents, and preparing clear written advice is considered an asset.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, professional work under tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-partisan policy, procedural and administrative support to assigned MNLA and PMC committees.
• Research, analyze and summarize policy issues, legislative matters, resolutions, reports and briefing materials.
• Prepare and coordinate committee documents, including agendas, briefing packages, minutes and reports.
• Track committee resolutions, recommendations, decisions and action items with follow-up.
• Plan, coordinate and support committee meetings, including agendas, materials and accessibility needs.
• Attend committee meetings to document proceedings, decisions and action items.
