Your role and responsibilities
As a Google Workspace Specialist at IBM, get ready to join one of the fastest growing practices within IBM consulting and play your part in further driving adoption of Google Workspace within our Enterprise customers. You will be a technical expert for Google Workspace providing technical expertise, resolving GWS related issues, supporting our growing GWS client base and supporting presales activities from technical perspective.
Key Responsibilities :
Google Workspace Administration :
Administer Google Workspace (GWS) environments for multiple clients, perform setup and configuration of new Google Workspace tenets, including user provisioning, OU structuring, and security policy enforcement
Provide technical support on Google Workspace to existing and new customers and be the primary technical point of contact for Google Workspace support-related issues across client accounts.
Configure and enforce security settings such as MFA, DLP, access controls, and mobile management for client environments.
Strong troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of IT concepts such as DNS, email routing, and identity management.
Planning and executing migrations from other platforms (like Microsoft 365) to Google Workspace. This also involves managing integrations with other business applications to ensure seamless workflows.
Maintain up-to-date documentation for each client’s configuration, procedures, and service history.
Presales Technical Support :
Provide presales technical support, as required, including understanding technical requirements, designing and presenting technical solutions and proposals related to GWS opportunities
Deliver technical presentations, demos, and training sessions for both customers and internal sales and sector teams
Client Engagement and Global Delivery :
Assist in delivery of technical discovery, mutual evaluations and end-to-end migration projects to GWS
Collaborate with Google support and external partners as needed to resolve complex issues related to GWS.
Stay updated on Google Workspace (GWS) product innovations and market trends.
Required technical and professional expertise
4+ years of experience supporting Google Workspace in a professional business environment, preferably at an SI, or MSP or Google or any Google certified partner organization
Google Workspace Administration
Proficiency in using the Google Admin Console to configure accounts and services.
Experience with tools like Google Workspace Migrate or Data Migration Service (DMS).
Experience with Email and Data migration (including encryption protocols) from Microsoft to Google Workspace
Experience with Google Workspace Migration for Microsoft Outlook (GWMMO)
Administration of SMTP and Active Directory security management
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell or Python) for batch migrations or automation
Good understanding of the GWS security and compliance features with strong troubleshooting skills.
Preferred technical and professional experience
Google Cloud Architect, GCP Developer
Managing and securing endpoints (desktops, laptops, mobile devices) that access Google Workspace data. This is often done through Google's endpoint management features to enforce security policies on these devices.
Professional Google Workspace Administrator Certification
