Qualifications

  • Comfortable working outdoors in a mountain environment.
  • Good physical condition for manual labor.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Safety of yourself and fellow workers is the top priority.
  • Prepare and upgrade the golf course for summer play.
  • Operate golf course maintenance equipment.
  • Mow turf, maintain bunkers, and manage waste.
  • Keep the golf course clean and free of debris.
  • Identify turf grass disease symptoms.

Skills

Previous experience working on a golf course or landscaping
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to lift heavy objects
Familiarity with WorkSafeBC and WHMIS regulations
Enjoyment of the sport of golf
Willingness to work very early shifts

Job description

We are looking to recruit a dedicated individual to join our golf course labourer team. This person must be comfortable working outdoors in a mountain environment and with early shift starts. Compensation Information: $20.10 per hour

Physical Requirement: Heavy (H) Work activities involve handling loads more than 20 kg. Predominately in an outdoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills You Bring With You

  • Previous experience working on a golf course or landscaping an asset.
  • Must possess and submit a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be in good physical condition, able to lift heavy objects, do manual and all types of labor, and be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must be familiar with WorkSafeBC and WHMIS regulations.
  • Must play and enjoy the sport of golf.
  • Willing and able to work very early shifts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Recognize that your safety, the safety of your fellow workers and the safety of the general public is your number one job responsibility.
  • Preparing and upgrading the golf course for summer play.
  • Operation of designated golf course maintenance equipment and monitor its performance.
  • Mowing turf, bunker maintenance, and waste management.
  • Keep the golf course clean and free of debris.
  • Learn to recognize turf grass disease symptoms.
