Qualifications

• Previous golf maintenance or landscaping experience an asset.
• CPR and First Aid certificates are an asset.
• Experience with snowplow, grader & blade, bobcat, and specific John Deere tractors is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment including utility vehicles, mowers, and tractors.
• Maintain turf areas through mowing, trimming, watering, and fertilizing.
• Ensure equipment is functional, reporting issues immediately.

Golf Maintenance Labourer (Seasonal)

For their breathtaking natural scenery, unique settings and legendary design, the golf courses of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts are destinations in themselves. With your care and attention to superior golf course conditioning, our courses will provide an immaculate backdrop to an exceptional golf experience.

Rate of Pay:Starting at $17.40 per hour.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Operate equipment and power tools, including utility vehicles, mowers and tractors
• Mow, trim, irrigate, and fertilize turf areas
• Edge, rake and maintain sand traps and cart paths
• Set tee markers and hole placement on greens
• Maintain fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment on a daily basis and ensure all equipment is clean and in safe working order
• Report equipment problems or failures immediately
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

• Previous Golf Maintenance or Landscaping experience an asset
• Valid Alberta Driver’s License required
• Must have a reasonable understanding of the game of golf
• Ability to work outdoors in various elements such as rain, heat & snow required
• CPR and First Aid Certificates an asset
• Machine operating experience an asset: snowplow, grader & blade, bobcat, john deere tractors 5200, 670, 855 & 3320

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
