Friday Harbour Inc. is seeking a Golf Attendant to support The Nest golf course operations, assist members and guests with clubs, and monitor pace of play. The role requires delivering responsive, friendly service on a highly visible on-course presence.

You will be responsible for cart and club upkeep, marshalling, starter duties, practice facility support, and greeting guests, while upholding course rules and safety standards. Join our team and help ensure a seamless golf experience.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Course Marshal or Golf Attendant is an asset.
• Knowledge of golf and golf operations.
• Smart Serve certification an asset.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be computer literate.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be extremely responsible with integrity and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Welcome members and provide assistance with clubs and equipment.
• Ensure cleanliness of the golf cart fleet, including washing and parking.
• Perform maintenance duties: rake practice bunkers, range upkeep, cart storage upkeep, bag drop area.
• Maintain Clubhouse cleanliness and surroundings.
• Assist with food and beverage setup and teardown as needed.
• Ensure all golf course rules and safety measures are followed.
• Respond to golfer questions, requests or concerns promptly.
• Direct golfers around the course for proper routing and course layout.
• Inform golfers of course policies and address violations.
• Track pace of play and update Pro Shop/Starter on times.
• Record and report accidents or infractions to Clubhouse Manager.
• Encourage prompt starts and record timing and players.
• On-course duties include picking up trash and maintaining signage and ropes.
• Adjust as needed for mud tracks and course conditions.
• Ensure guests feel welcome and receive friendly, courteous service.
• Comply with all safety regulations and participate in health and safety programs.
• Adhere to environmental policies and participate in related programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Role Summary

One of the responsibilities of the Golf Attendant is to maintain The Nest golf course operations and assist members/guests with their clubs or other needs. They will also be responsible for monitoring the pace of play and must be the most visible associate on property to assist player needs and monitor if rules and regulations of the golf course are adhered to. Duties include, power cart care and cleaning, club cleaning/storage, marshalling, starter, practice facility attendant and greeting.

Responsibilities

• Welcome members and provide assistance with their clubs and other equipment
• Responsible for the cleanliness of the golf cart fleet, including washing and parking of golf carts
• Perform maintenance duties including, raking practice bunkers, range upkeep, cart storage area upkeep, and maintaining bag drop area
• Maintain the cleanliness of the Clubhouse and its surroundings
• Assist with food and beverage set up and tear down when required
• Responsible to ensure that all rules and regulations of golf course are being followed to create a safe and friendly environment
• Respond to golfer questions, requests or concerns and resolve in a timely manner
• Direct golfers around the course if they are unfamiliar with the course layout
• Inform golfers of course policies and if someone is in violation address immediately
• Track pace of play and update Pro Shop/Starter of pace times
• Record and report all accidents, property damage or infractions to Clubhouse Manager
• Encourage players start promptly, recording the start time and the number of the carts and players names
• While on course pick up any garbage and straighten stakes, cart directional signs and ropes, replacing or adding if necessary
• Adjust as necessary, if fairway entry and exit points have mud tracks
• Ensure all members/guests feel welcome, are given responsive, friendly and courteous service, and that all situations are handled in an expedited manner
• Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program
• Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
• Other duties as assigned
