Job summary

Stripe in Toronto is seeking a software engineer to own Golang experiences across our SDKs powering more than 80% of Stripe’s payment volume. You’ll represent the Golang community and help build idiomatic, high-quality APIs and tooling.

You will collaborate with teams to release APIs in SDKs, contribute to code generation frameworks, mentor teammates, and help design intuitive abstractions for developers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in engineering across a wide range of products.
• 3+ years as a Golang software engineer.
• Interest in working with multiple programming languages.
• Passion for API design and developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Be the Golang expert on the team, representing the needs of the Golang community.
• Improve the code generation framework and potentially open source it.
• Collaborate with Stripe teams to release APIs in the SDKs and improve release efficiency.
• Help streamline the API authoring process at Stripe.
• Support users on open-source GitHub repositories for our SDKs.
• Add support for new language features in SDKs.
• Lead API design discussions, guiding product teams to intuitive abstractions.
• Mentor and support other team members.
