Job summary

Hexagon’s Autonomy & Positioning division in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a Sensor Fusion Engineer to develop GNSS/INS (SPAN) solutions and collaborate with engineers across the NovAtel organization. You will implement navigation enhancements, perform data analysis, and support customer integrations with the Applications Engineer team.

The role emphasizes embedded firmware, testing with real-world GNSS/INS data, and contributing to production releases in a high-tech environment.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Electrical, Geomatics, or Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of industry experience.
• Proficient in C/C++ and Python for embedded FW development.
• Knowledge of software development practices and data analysis.
• Fluent English verbal and written skills.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Development and enhancement of GNSS + Inertial navigation technology.
• Embedded FW development - designing features and improving performance.
• Integrating and evaluating new IMUs.
• Investigating new sensor technologies and positioning techniques.
• Real world testing and analysis of Inertial Solutions & sensor data.
• Liaising with other departments to analyze and debug customer applications and data.
• Defining functional and performance requirements; design, code, and test to meet schedule and quality targets for production releases.
