Job description

We believe that at least 1% of the global body of Christ is called and gifted by God for involvement in ministry beyond their own people, requiring the crossing of boundaries. These may include ethnic, linguistic, social, cultural, national, and religious boundaries to make Christ known, call people to repentance and faith, help them grow as disciples, establish local churches, and train leaders for the churches.

The Global Worker Mobilization Coordinator will lead a team that seeks to steward the conditions that the Holy Spirit uses to call and send missionaries. Stewarding these conditions often includes mentoring leaders of churches and denominations to develop a missional culture in the national church, teaching and preaching mission messages, providing mission conferences for churches or groups of pastors and leaders, networking and building coalitions of mission-minded entities, creating short-term mission opportunities, and organizing vision trip opportunities for leaders and potential missionaries. The GWM Coordinator will work with the national church or ministries to design and provide missionary training for cross-cultural ministry involvement. The role may also involve helping to develop new OMS signatories.

The Global Worker Mobilization Team will collaborate closely with other OMS ministry teams to ensure that God’s mission to all peoples is integrated into all our efforts. This role is available in the Latin American-Caribbean and Asia-Pacific Regional Hubs.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead the Global Worker Mobilization team to promote and embody OMS’s mission, vision, core values, theology, and principles.
  2. Collaborate with other OMS missionaries and partners to maximize the effectiveness of this work.
  3. Teach and train in core areas necessary for effective cross-cultural ministry.
  4. Organize and lead vision trips for local leaders to see needs in other regions and among different peoples.
  5. Model prayer for the lost and nurture a passionate burden for them through Scripture.
  6. Support OMS-related seminaries in integrating viable missionary training into their curricula.
  7. Familiarize local church leaders with other missionary movements and related learning opportunities.
  8. Connect local leaders with culturally appropriate missionary training models and resources.
  9. Promote contextually suitable missionary recruitment and care models.
  10. Create opportunities within local churches to challenge members toward global mission involvement.
  11. Understand movement dynamics to help birth, nurture, and multiply them.
  12. Integrate Christ’s compassion into all tasks.
Skills and Education
