Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Canada seeks an Associate Director, Global Trade – DT/GT & Automated Export Control Systems (AECS) to lead the integration of trade requirements into digital strategies. You will influence global teams, shape AECS capabilities, and drive automated, compliant trade processes across a global aerospace enterprise.

The role requires deep knowledge of export controls, sanctions, and governance, with strong leadership and communication skills in a matrix organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 12+ years in global trade, export compliance or related field.
• Extensive knowledge of global trade requirements: jurisdiction, classification, licenses, sanctions and verification.
• Experience with automated trade compliance systems and digital technologies in ERP/GTS environments.
• Ability to translate global trade requirements into clear business and technical requirements for senior stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and influencing skills in a global, matrixed organization.
• French-speaking environment with very good English for daily documentation and communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration of global trade requirements into the company's digital environment from the outset.
• Act as a senior global trade advisor in IT and business transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with DT teams and GT teams to translate requirements into actionable tech specs.
• Evaluate initiatives for alignment with global trade requirements, risks, and business objectives.
• Drive AECS evolution with scalable, data-driven controls and ABAC.
• Establish governance for technology initiatives and ensure GT involvement throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify gaps in global trade controls within digital tools and improve automation and efficiency.
• Influence global trade initiatives across the enterprise and ensure alignment with standards.
• Provide portfolio-wide visibility and strategic leadership across global teams.
• Build relationships across global trade, IT, and business functions to remove obstacles.
• Challenge status quo and pursue opportunities to improve compliance through technology and data.
• Travel approximately 10% of the time.
