Job summary

Telesat is seeking a Supply Chain Contract Specialist to support global procurement and contract management for a fast-paced, technology-driven environment in Ottawa. You will manage complex vendor contracts, draft agreements, and coordinate with Legal and project teams to ensure on-time delivery and compliance.

The role requires a strong background in contracts and supply chain, ability to work cross-functionally, and a willingness to obtain CGP clearance to operate in Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Engineering or a college degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or Administration.
• 3–5 years of experience in supply chain or procurement, ideally in a complex technology-based environment.
• Procurement designation (e.g., CSCMP) is desirable but not mandatory.
• Experience in contract processes, drafting, and negotiations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral & written).
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset but not required.
• Ability to work in Canada and obtain CGP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain understanding of corporate policies and purchasing processes to mitigate risks.
• Procure complex, specialized goods and services.
• Implement compliant acquisition practices to meet program objectives.
• Own contractual supply chain management functions for assigned vendors.
• Conduct supply chain risk assessments and due diligence; support engineering/project teams.
• Collaborate with Legal to draft and implement contract templates (agreements, NDAs, terms, etc.).
• Monitor contracts through completion, coordinate stakeholder meetings, track scope changes and invoice approvals.
• Identify risks and advise on mitigation strategies for suppliers and products.
• Demonstrate financial stewardship through budgeting and cost-reduction efforts.
• Seek continuous improvements to procurement systems and processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
