Job summary

Scotiabank is seeking a Director, Head of Statutory Reporting - Finance to lead global statutory reporting for the bank and its Canadian subsidiaries from Toronto. You will drive the strategy, governance, and execution of IFRS-based financial statements and external disclosures with executive oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in statutory reporting, corporate accounting, legal entity reporting, or controllership.
• Experience managing reporting across multiple legal entities.
• Strong executive stakeholder management across Finance, Legal, Tax, and Treasury.
• Expertise in finance transformation, operating model design, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Establish and oversee the global statutory reporting strategy and governance framework.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of statutory financial statements for All Bank reporting, as well as Canadian subsidiaries.
• Lead audits with regulators and manage remediation of findings and control deficiencies.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, robotics, AI, and process redesign.
