Job summary

Cooke Aquaculture Inc. is seeking a Director of Quality Assurance to lead corporate quality and traceability programs across Eastern Canada and Maine.

You will drive HACCP, GMP, labeling compliance, and cross-functional improvements while supervising QA teams and laboratory testing for product safety and regulatory adherence. The role requires robust regulatory knowledge (CFIA, FDA), strong analytical skills, and a track record of multi-site leadership in the seafood industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, QA or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7+ years in progressive food QA, minimum 3 years in leadership or multi-site roles.
• Certifications: HACCP, PCQI, SQF Practitioner or ASQ certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic implementation of Quality Management and Traceability Programs (HACCP, GMP).
• Oversee QA across multiple operations in Eastern Canada and Maine.
• Manage in-house and third-party lab testing and reporting processes.
• Develop and report KPIs to measure quality system effectiveness.
• Lead audits, certification readiness, and regulatory interactions (CFIA, FDA).
• Oversee allergen management, labeling, and packaging compliance.
• Drive cross-functional quality initiatives and continuous improvement.
