Job summary

Semex is seeking a Global Product Manager to lead worldwide commercialization, launch, growth, and lifecycle management of HerdStrong 360 products from its Guelph, Ontario base. You will work with R&D, regulatory, operations, supply chain, sales, and marketing to drive revenue and market penetration.

The role requires international travel (30% international, 10% domestic), a minimum starting salary of CAD 90,000, and a strong background in animal health and dairy nutrition.

Qualifications

About the Role

We are currently looking for a Global Product Manager to fill a vacancy and join our Corporate Development team. Reporting to the Vice President, Sales, The Global Product Manager will lead the worldwide commercialization, launch, growth, and lifecycle management of a focused portfolio of HerdStrong 360 products. The HerdStrong 360 product portfolio builds on Immunity+ ® genetics with full-circle health solutions for healthier, more productive herds.

What You Will Do:
  • Develop and execute global product strategies for the HerdStrong 360 product portfolio.
  • Define product positioning, target customer segments, pricing strategies, and competitive differentiation.
  • Identify market opportunities, customer needs, and emerging industry trends.
  • Monitor competitive activity and market developments within dairy nutrition, transition cow health, and calf health segments.
Global Product Launch Management
  • Lead end-to-end launch planning and execution for new products
  • Develop launch playbooks, timelines, milestones, and success metrics.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities involving R&D, regulatory, operations, supply chain, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Partner with regional sales leaders to drive revenue growth and market penetration.
  • Develop sales tools.
  • Deliver sales training programs for internal teams and distributor networks.
  • Support major customer meetings, technical seminars, and commercial negotiations.
  • Develop and execute integrated global marketing strategies and promotional plans.
  • Create compelling product messaging based on scientific evidence and focused on customer needs and outcomes.
  • Lead digital marketing, content marketing, and campaign development.
Scientific Communications & Technical Marketing
  • Translate research and field-trial data into customer-focused value propositions.
  • Produce technical articles, webinars, and educational materials.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, nutritionists, universities, and key opinion leaders.
  • Maintain scientific credibility and compliance in all product communications.
  • Support international distributors with training, sales tools, and launch materials.
  • Build strong relationships with key distribution partners.
  • Facilitate distributor onboarding and product certification programs.
  • Monitor distributor performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of:
    • Dairy industry trends
    • Competitive products
    • Customer needs
    • Pricing dynamics
    • Regulatory development.
  • Gather customer insights from veterinarians, nutritionists, producers, and distributors.
  • Identify unmet market needs and opportunities for innovation.
What You Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Agricultural Sciences, Agribusiness, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of product management, marketing, technical sales, or commercial leadership experience.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required, including possession of a valid passport and the ability to obtain and maintain all necessary travel documentation and visas.
  • Experience in dairy nutrition, animal health, livestock production, veterinary products, or feed additives preferred.
  • Demonstrated success launching products internationally.
  • Experience working with distributors and export markets.
  • Strong understanding of dairy production systems and transition cow management.

This is a hybrid role, based out of our Guelph, Ontario office. Please note, regular travel (30% international, 10% domestic) is a requirement of this role. This position offers a minimum starting salary of $$90,000, with potential compensation enhancements based on applicable experience and qualifications.
