Job summary

Thomson Reuters Canada Ltd in Toronto is seeking a Privacy Operations Engineer to design and maintain automation, data flows, and integration pipelines for a global privacy program. You will work with OneTrust, data discovery tools, and cloud services to operationalize privacy-by-design principles.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, building scalable data mappings, and governance across DSAR workflows with KPI reporting for leadership. Hybrid work model offered in Canada.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of experience in a data engineering, software engineering, or technical privacy/compliance engineering role.
• Strong proficiency in Python or SQL and experience building API integrations and automated workflows (Power Automate, scripts, middleware).
• Experience building integrations between privacy platforms (OneTrust, BigID, Collibra) and internal systems with field mapping and bidirectional sync.
• Experience designing automated data discovery and mapping pipelines feeding ROPA records across structured/unstructured data.
• Experience implementing risk-based conditional logic for privacy assessments and KPI dashboards for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design privacy automation engineering for data subject rights fulfillment, data discovery/mapping, and privacy assessment triggering.
• Build and maintain API integrations between privacy platforms and internal systems with status sync and error handling.
• Implement automated redaction pipelines with human-review checkpoints and audit logs.
• Develop event-driven data mapping architectures and data flow inventories tied to procurement processes.
• Create KPI dashboards (Power BI, ADO Analytics) translating raw data into privacy program metrics.
