The Opportunity :
The Global Medical Collaboration Leader (GMCL) is a medical, field-based role working across countries and affiliates to accelerate the development and delivery of medicines to patients through effective medical customer engagement across the lifecycle of a molecule / Disease Area (Obesity). This position will :
Act as a strategic field-based medical partner for global teams and affiliate colleagues and understands the needs and supports strategic and tactical planning across the Disease Area (DA) lifecycle
Serve as an above-country medical expert, establishing scientific collaborations and value-based partnerships while supporting medicines and disease areas from early development through to post-approval
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, driving scientific knowledge exchange and medical education, while executing customer-centric activities in emerging Disease Areas to support innovative initiatives and partnerships.
Engage, educate, and partner with investigators, ensuring coordinated clinical trial site selection, driving scientific engagement for patient recruitment and retention, and gathering crucial feedback to optimize clinical development and enhance customer experience.
Collaborate with internal colleagues to gather and address knowledge gaps, profile external stakeholders, and build comprehensive disease area understanding across countries, informing engagement plans and updating the organization on local developments, competitive landscape, and patient experiences.
Serve as a disease area champion by accelerating understanding of local ecosystems, driving field-based activities, and engaging with TAEs to support launch and access, aligning affiliate efforts with global strategies and facilitating training and relationships across assigned countries.
Foster an innovative and collaborative environment to enhance customer engagement while ensuring high scientific standards, efficient collaboration, and continuous learning for team members.
Who you are :
You are a driven individual with strong scientific & commercial acumen who thrives working in an empowered, dynamic and agile working environment and able to understand relationships, create purposeful strong internal / external collaborations with key stakeholders to enable better outcomes for customers that includes :
Master Degree in science or related field and 7+ years’ of experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry
Significant experience in a global or local medical / scientific field customer-facing role
Solid knowledge of drug safety / pharmacovigilance
Track record of scientific collaborations with external experts and / or collaborative groups
Deep scientific knowledge of the assigned Disease Area (Obesity / Diabetes / Metabolism)
In this position, you will be servicing customers across Canada, therefore a proficient level of English is required and French may be required depending on geographical location.
Preferred :
Postgraduate Degree (PhD, PharmD, MSc, MD, MBA) a plus
Bilingualism in both English and French
Knowledge of relevant drug development process, including regulatory requirements, trends, and drug approval in Canada
Significant experience in a global or local medical / scientific customer-facing role is required, and in addition clinical trials operational experience in Canada (having worked with Canadian study sites) is highly desirable
This field-based role may require travel within Canada and occasionally outside the country.
