Job summary

Hatch is seeking a Control and Automation Engineering Trainee, a recent graduate to support global projects from the Sudbury office. You will contribute to control and automation design, work with senior engineers, and gain hands-on experience across multiple sites.

You will program PLC/DCS, develop test procedures, and collaborate with diverse teams while advancing your skills through formal and informal mentorship in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Must be working towards graduating in 2027 with an engineering degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience or interest in control systems and automation is preferred.
• Strong computer literacy with MS Office and data-centric tools.

Responsibilities

• Work independently and as part of a team to complete control and automation engineering design deliverables for a variety of projects.
• Prepare control and automation deliverables including criteria, P&IDs, and layout drawings.
• Program using PLC and/or DCS per project requirements.
• Develop factory acceptance test procedures and software acceptance test plans.
• Travel to project sites, including remote locations, as required.
