Job description

TRE ALTAMIRA is on the lookout for a highly skilled and motivated GIS Software Developer to join our team in Vancouver, BC. In this role you’ll be focusing on add-in development for the ESRI ArcGIS Pro environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for technology (GIS, Remote Sensing, and Programming), a commitment to continuous learning, and a proven ability to build collaborative relationships with both colleagues and clients.

We are a small, close-knit, and collaborative team consisting of diverse individuals from around the world. We are based in downtown Vancouver with many team members working on a hybrid basis. We offer a great collaborative working culture and competitive compensation package including a bonus structure, extended health and dental plan, and an RRSP program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain software solutions for our Geospatial Solutions team
  • Stay abreast of ESRI developments and all GIS emerging software technologies and advancements
  • Proactively identify and implement innovative GIS solutions to address evolving company needs and market demands
  • Provide technical support and guidance to our Geospatial Solutions team and other staff members
  • Ensure developed software is regularly maintained, updated and optimized
  • Participate in design control activities for assigned projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • In-depth knowledge of Geographic Information Systems and Geospatial Science
  • Proficiency in C#
  • Proficiency with Python in particular with focus on ArcPy library and other geospatial libraries
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro SDK for .NET
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Solid understanding of ESRI Products and Tools, specifically Add-in concepts
  • Adherence to software development best practices, including versioning and testing
  • Experience with User Interface Design in particular with Windows Presentation Foundation
  • Proficient in technical writing for manuals, and documentation of coding

Desired Skills
