Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a GIS Field Engineer / Supervisor to lead the installation, supervision, testing, and engineering oversight of GIS systems across North America. This hands-on leadership role combines field execution with engineering adaptability, designed for professionals who thrive on leading crews and solving complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities include field supervision, safety leadership, engineering documentation, and material sourcing.

Qualifications

Education: Degree, diploma, or technical training in Electrical, Electromechanical, or equivalent Engineering discipline.
Experience: Significant field experience in HV GIS installation, construction supervision, commissioning and HV tests.
Standards: European and North American standards strongly preferred.
PE license: PE/P.Eng. preferred; candidates with field technical experience encouraged to apply.
Languages: Fluent French and English required.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise GE Vernova field teams and subcontractors for GIS installation, maintenance, repair and retrofit projects (69 kV–800 kV).
Coordinate manpower, tools, equipment and site resources for efficient execution.
Serve as the primary GE Vernova representative and customer interface on site.
Lead safety briefings, JSA/AHA, and toolbox talks.
Review and draft engineering documents, including GA drawings and control schematics.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, LOTO, and other regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with suppliers on component substitutions and procurement documents.
Mentor and develop junior field engineers, supervisors and technicians.
