Job summary

Associated Environmental Consultants, part of the Associated Engineering Group, seeks a GIS Analyst to join our Calgary office and provide GIS support for environmental and engineering projects through data development, management and visualization.

You will develop applications for field staff, manage project data, and contribute to proposals and client relationships while leveraging ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related tools. Calgary-based hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in a relevant field and/or applied technological program (graduate degree preferred).
  • 2-3 years of experience in a professional or consulting environment is an asset.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS, ArcPro and ArcGIS Online; experience with QGIS, Manifold GIS, and Global Mapper is an asset.
  • Programming skills in SQL and Python is an asset.
  • Experience with remote sensing and drones is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute technical expertise to a variety of projects within our environmental and engineering subsidiaries.
  • Prepare figures, maps and data sets following company standards
  • Create and manage spatial and tabular data.
  • Develop applications for field-based staff
  • Manage time and budget for assigned tasks.
  • Contribute to business development, proposal writing, and fostering client relationship.
