Job Description

The Portfolio Manager in personal insurance plays a crucial role by managing approximately 1,000 policies. They provide personalized service, respond to client calls, and handle renewals requiring special attention. They also contribute to business development by managing existing portfolios and underwriting new business proposals from the team.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Providing prompt and professional service for daily client needs
  • Maintaining rigorous documentation for each file, in compliance with HUB and AMF standards
  • Managing client activities
  • Participating in strategy preparation, service offerings, insurance summaries, and condition comparisons
  • Preparing and transmitting requests to insurers
  • Following up with insurers and clients as needed
  • Verifying accuracy of insurance policies and endorsements, and tracking necessary corrections
  • Preparing quotes for insurers, proposals for clients, and coverage notes
  • Drafting instructions for insurance certificates and ensuring compliance
  • Drafting billing instructions and ensuring billing accuracy
  • Collaborating on rigorous accounts receivable follow-up
  • Correcting account discrepancies
  • Handling renewals

Job Requirements

Technical Skills

  • College diploma
  • Valid AMF license – Personal Property and Casualty Insurance
  • Minimum of 2 years experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent command of French, both spoken and written
  • Good knowledge of English, essential for communication with international clients
