Pratt & Whitney Canada is looking for a Contract Manager to join our team in our offices in Longueuil. As a Contract Manager you will provide contracts support for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney Canada’s product strategic sourcing, including the review, negotiation, drafting, and interpretation of complex long-term agreements with our global suppliers.
The ideal candidate will excel at managing and mitigating disputes, fostering strong partnerships with internal clients, and providing high visibility and strategic value across the Supply Chain department. You must be rigorous, have strong drafting and negotiation skills, and have a minimum of five to ten years’ contract experience.
The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours in Longueuil, and is exclusively on-site.
What will your day-to-day look like?
Prepare, negotiate, draft and close commercial agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company’s ethics, policies, and procedures;
Lead/support commercial and contract strategy development and negotiations with suppliers;
Review supplier proposals, contract terms and conditions, statements of work;
Conduct thorough contractual analysis on existing deals to identify potential risks and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate disputes and enhance contract performance.
Implement contract strategy in support of business interests.
Assist in resolution of contract disputes and/or commercial issues;
Play a key role in driving Pratt & Whitney Canada's strategic goals by delivering contract solutions that support business growth and optimize operational efficiency.
Provide strategic recommendations to all levels of management;
Work closely with Legal, Strategic Sourcing, Finance, Global Trade, Cyber Security, Intellectual Property and other subject matter experts in all stages of transaction activity.
What do you need to be successful?
Bachelor’s degree in law with a minimum of five to ten years legal and contracts’ experience drafting and negotiating agreements for a large multinational company;
Substantial experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating high-dollar, long-term, and complex commercial contracts;
Deep expertise in contractual analysis to support a growing portfolio;
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure;
Ability to independently identify the legal, IP and business risk of a proposed transaction and obtain appropriate terms;
Ability to balance commercial and legal considerations, and to identify and deploy leverage, to obtain the best overall outcome for Pratt & Whitney Canada;
Ability to think and work proactively and strategically in resolving legal issues with the ability to influence senior stakeholders;
Ability to interact effectively with multiple levels of the organization and maintain strong relationships with peers, internal clients, and external suppliers;
Experience in supply management is a strong asset;
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office;
Confident, persuasive and challenge driven;
Strong sense of urgency, priorities and detail oriented.
This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
