St. Joseph's Health Care London in London, Ontario is seeking Personal Support Workers to provide patient-centered care with a rehabilitation focus for a diverse population, including frail elderly and musculoskeletal patients, within Specialized Geriatric Services.

The program includes Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, Geriatric Rehabilitation, and Amputee Units; 30-bed Geriatric Rehab, 20-bed Musculoskeletal, 6-bed Amputee; patients typically stay 10 days to 6 weeks and return to independence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Personal Support Worker Certificate Program
• Proof of registration with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) (External Applicants Only)
• Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal, observation and assertiveness skills
• Ability to perform functions that require heavy lifting, bending, standing, walking, pushing, pulling
• Ability to assist with safe lifting, transferring and ambulation of patients
• Ability to work in a team environment
