Job summary

Prairie Mountain Health seeks an activity/recreation worker to develop and provide recreation programs promoting health, wellness and recovery for clients. You will collaborate with clients, families and an interdisciplinary team consistent with PMH values.

The role requires working with elderly and cognitively impaired populations, and involves coordination of schedules, activities, and documentation in a health care environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education (MB Standards).
• Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 or willing to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience with elderly or disabled individuals is preferred.
• Two years of recent relevant health-care experience.
• Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence required.
• ASIST and NVCI certifications are required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and implement activity and recreation programs for clients.
• Organize and implement group activities.
• Provide instruction to develop knowledge and abilities.
• Communicate progress with interdisciplinary team and revise plans.
