Fraser Health Authority in Canada seeks an Occupational Therapist to join the Older Adult specialty team. Under the guidance of the Program Coordinator and Clinical Chief, you will develop, implement and evaluate treatment plans based on evidence-based, client-centered care to promote independence and safety for older adults.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, document patient progress, and contribute to quality improvement and staff education.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school of Occupational Therapy.
• Two (2) years recent related clinical experience working with older adult clients.
• Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC.
• Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists - British Columbia (CAOT - BC).

Responsabilités

• Provides occupational therapy assessment, consultation and interventions for patients to maximize physical function and promote independence and safety.
• Collaborates with colleagues, client and caregivers to develop individual treatment goals and care plans.
• Provides geriatric clinical expertise and leadership in evidence-based practice to staff and patients.
• Attends patient care conferences and family meetings and presents information related to occupational therapy assessments.
• Records, maintains and updates patient records in accordance with policies.
• Demonstrates and teaches occupational therapy interventions to staff and students.
• Contributes to development and evaluation of practices, policies and procedures and audits.
• Participates in orientation and in-service training of staff, students and volunteers.
