Fraser Health is hiring a Casual Registered Nurse, Older Adult for Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC. Join an Acute Care for Elders team providing direct, person-centered nursing care to acutely ill elderly patients.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BCCNM.
• One year recent related acute care experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessment and provide nursing care with evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients within an acute care unit for elders and collects information using observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment.
• Collaborates with patients and families in developing and modifying the care plan with emphasis on patient rights and autonomy.
• Coordinates nursing care, sets priorities, assigns tasks, and refers to interprofessional care team per protocols.
• Teaches patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration and maintenance to support health goals.
• Documents assessments, interventions, outcomes and referrals per Fraser Health procedures.
