Job description

As part of Egis's growth into North America, our Geotechnical team is expanding its service offerings and presence in Ontario. The Geotechnical group includes a foundations engineering team with experience in delivering solutions ranging from residential to large-scale infrastructure projects for both private and public sector clients. To support the foundations team, the geotechnical team is complemented by seasoned pavement engineers specializing in expert pavement design, evaluation, and management. Our team is well-equipped to handle diverse challenges, operating two CCIL-certified laboratories to ensure rigorous testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt. As an integral part of Egis's commitment to a diverse clientele, our geotechnical team plays a pivotal role in project success.

This is a temporary seasonal position offering an opportunity to launch your Geotechnical Engineering career with a growing company.

  • Conduct material field testing such as field compaction testing, wet concrete sampling, and concrete and asphalt coring as part of QC or QA programs.
  • Assist in laboratory testing for soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt.
  • Support Laboratory Supervisor in maintaining the laboratory's proper working condition.
  • Participate in activities related to the quality system.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes, guidelines, and regulations, as indicated by the Egis Health and Safety Officer.
  • Participate in all assigned health and safety training programs.
  • Attend technical training programs as required.
  • Maintain strong and effective working relationships with Egis staff, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Willingness to learn office and scheduling skills is an asset.

Qualifications :

  • Post-secondary education in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Previous relevant experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn.
  • Available to work flexible schedules and travel to site locations within Ontario.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Bilingual (English / French) is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and creative thinking abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
