Job summary

EXP Services Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Technician to support our London, ON and Windsor, ON offices. You will conduct field and laboratory testing, ensuring data quality and timely reporting for diverse geotechnical projects.

The role requires 3+ years of field and aggregate testing experience, CCIL/CSA certification for field concrete testing, and strong organizational skills. A college diploma is preferred, with proficiency in Excel and Windows OS. Occasional overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience in field and aggregate testing in a laboratory.
• CCIL/CSA certification for field concrete testing is required; laboratory certification is an asset.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work overtime in peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Carry out aggregate, soil tests in field and laboratory.
• Perform soil identification and subgrade soil examinations.
• Conduct in-situ density and compaction testing.
• Sample and test concrete, mortar, grout and asphalt.
• Maintain field and laboratory equipment in good condition.
• Assist management with field/lab certification and record keeping.
• Collaborate with Geotechnical Engineers and document results.

We have an immediate opening for aGeotechnical Technicianto join our Materials Testing group in our London, ON/Windsor, ON office.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Carrying out aggregate, soil tests in the field and within our Aggregate Laboratories;
• Soil Identification and Examination of Subgrade Soils
• Insitu Density and Compaction Testing
• Concrete, Mortar and Grout Sampling and Testing
• Asphalt Sampling and Testing
• Ensuring field and laboratory equipment is maintained in good condition;
• Assisting management team in field and laboratory certification, and record keeping;
• Interacting with Materials and Geotechnical Engineers routinely;
• Operating computerized and digital testing equipment.
• Field and Laboratory result report writing.

What your experience looks like

• Minimum 3 years experiencein field and Aggregate, testing Laboratory;
• College diploma an asset
• Field experience in concrete, earthworks and asphalt
• CCIL/CSA certified for field concrete testing (required), laboratory certification an asset.
• Strong communication skills and leadership capabilities;
• Ability to work overtime in peak periods;
• Excellent organizational skills and time management a must;
• Proficiency with the windows operating system, Microsoft Excel;
• Able to organize, prioritize, set and adjust priorities and schedules independently.

The salary range for this role is between $45K - $55K. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
