Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for a full-time role based in the GTA, Ontario. The ideal candidate will combine rock mechanics expertise with field reconnaissance and geotechnical investigations to deliver design and risk assessments.

You will collaborate with civil, tunneling, and hydrology specialists, prepare technical reports, and contribute to geotechnical design parameters, slope stability, and tunnel support concepts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field and 4+ years of geotechnical design experience.
• Proficiency in RocScience Suite, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS for design and reporting.
• Strong technical writing skills and knowledge of geotechnical investigations and rock mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Engineer on rock mechanics projects and geotechnical design.
• Conduct site reconnaissance and geological mapping focused on rock mechanics.
• Develop geological models using AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and Leapfrog.
• Perform slope stability and rock fall analyses and mitigation planning.
• Prepare geotechnical design reports, specs, and proposals.
