Lewkowich Engineering Associates Ltd. (LEA) is a professional engineering services firm, established locally in 1994. LEA provides geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and hazardous building materials testing services to Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, and the surrounding Gulf Islands, with offices in Nanaimo and Courtenay. We have a fulltime team of thirty-five employees, including Professional Engineers and Geoscientists, certified technologists and technicians, industrial hygienists, and administration staff.

We are looking for a geotechnical materials testing technician to join our established team working out of our Courtenay office.
You are a detailed oriented individual who enjoys working outside and in an office environment.
You are able to work as part of a team in a professional environment, but at the same time able to work independently with strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task.
You are comfortable and have experience working on construction sites. Prior experience with earthworks/concrete construction and an interest in construction technology.
You are a proactive person, but also someone who can react efficiently and effectively to manage problems.
No experience necessary, but preference will be given to those with relevant prior work experience and/or education.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to lift and control soil samples up to approximately 50 pounds.
High school diploma, but preference will be given to those with post-secondary technical education and/or training.
You must possess a good command of the English language and be proficient in written and verbal communication.
Experience with Microsoft suite of software (Word, Excel, etc.).

This is a permanent, full-time position, offering a 40-hour work week, and a Monday to Friday schedule.
Competitive wage of $25 to $40 per hour depending on experience.
