Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Technologist for regular full-time field rotations in the Edmonton area. The role focuses on field operations, instrument monitoring, soil sampling, and data collection to support geotechnical projects on mine sites and civil earthworks.

You will work independently in the field with supervision from a Field Supervisor and Project Manager, complying with HSE policies and project specifications.

Qualifications

Post-Secondary Diploma in geological/geotechnical discipline.
Minimum 5 years in geotechnical field and/or lab testing.
ASET or ASTTBC registration considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Perform field operations, surveillance, and QA for geotechnical works at mine sites and civil projects.
Interpret design drawings, specifications, and monitor geotechnical parameters.
Operate light vehicles and field equipment; follow HSE policies and site procedures.
Document observations, generate reports, and support construction activities.
Assist in instrument setup, data collection, and data management.
