Job summary

CBCL invites applications for seasonal Geotechnical & Materials Technicians/Technologists to support our geotechnical and materials engineering teams in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Openings in Fredericton, NB; Moncton, NB; and Bedford, NS.

You will perform QA/QC field testing and laboratory testing of soils, rocks, concrete and asphalt materials, and assist with investigations. Recent civil engineering graduates are encouraged to apply; a diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

• A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology preferred.
• Recent Civil Engineering University graduates will be considered.
• No prior experience required however, QA/QC testing, building/heavy civil construction, or inspection experience is an asset.
• Registration or eligibility for TechNova or NBSCETT would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform QA/QC field testing and inspection of concrete, soil, and asphalt.
• Carry out field review of civil construction works.
• Carry out laboratory testing on soils, rock, concrete, and asphalt materials.
• Assist with geotechnical investigations, including sampling of soil and rock from boreholes/test pits.
• Interface with clients on laboratory and field test results.
