Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Geotechnical EIT or young professional to start their career with hands-on field work, laboratory testing, and geotechnical analyses in Edmonton, Canada. You will contribute to site investigations, instrument monitoring, and technical reporting under senior mentorship.

Ideal candidates have a Civil/Geotechnical/Geological/Mining engineering background, with 0-2 years of geotechnical experience, a valid Canadian driver's license, and a willingness to relocate to Edmonton or

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering or Mining Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of experience in geotechnical engineering or related services.
  • Eligible to register (or already registered) as an Engineer-In-Training with APEGA.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to live and work in Canada and reside in Edmonton, Alberta, or be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Perform geotechnical field work, site investigations, instrument monitoring, and construction reviews and/or quality tests.
  • Conduct laboratory tests to determine soil characteristics and gain familiarity with local materials.
  • Prepare technical reports under guidance of senior engineers and technologists.
  • Collaborate with Stantec teams and contractors on geotechnical pursuits and proposals.

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Benefits Summary
